24 JANUARY 2019
May 1968 was a transformative period for many creators that forever changed the culture that followed.
In November 2018, I was standing on a Parisian street when the yellow vests movement began, thinking
this would be another culturally defining moment after 1968.
I feel the next era in fashion is not about just Haute Couture or prêt-à-porter - what lies ahead is the integration of the two.
A new ecosystem where we design uniquely-fitted clothes to each individual and produce just the sufficient amount will prevail.
How do we deliver individually-designed clothes to ever-growing world population ?
How do we redefine the production process and its cost structure without compromising the comfortableness and durability of garments ?
YUIMA NAKAZATO has envisioned and has tackled toward this future since 2015 with many iterations of research and development.
By integrating the latest digital fabrication technology and its unique production method,
YUIMA NAKAZATO has invented a new type of clothes, bringing us to the future where
we deliver individually-designed clothes to the masses that are instantly repairable and customizable
so that garments can ben handed down across generations.
It is our sincere privilege to introduce and invite you to our latest collection, our first entry into the new, unnamed era,
at the historic Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.
