Vernissage de l'exposition "Who Cares"

Who Cares is the follow up of the exhibition What's up Doc? curated by Charles Teyssou and Pierre Alexandre Mateos which took place at New Galerie in October 2017.

What's up Doc? was an experiment in building a show that would be an equivalent to institutional critique but anchored in a gallery context, its program, its relationship. Following, underlining and disturbing the line of the gallery, the curators expanded on the notion of trauma, both sociological and personal, that the gallery has always been keen or submitted to track. They also put into question, around a core of the artists of the gallery, how an editorial line could be thought and how also it could be asked as a personal question to the gallery.

Who Cares is an exhibition that would like to reflect not on the sparking traumas, but on the ongoing relationship the gallery has, on how valuable is the care we put to things and persons is, on how the artists relate day to day to their practices and objects. While the trauma described in the first exhibition was also a zone of creation or even comfort, the care can be seen as a claim, a perversity, a dilution of oneself or a bitter irony.
