|Campoli Presti continues its series of seasonal screenings taking place at the gallery space in Paris. Each edition features the work of three artists and is directed towards a particular question.
The second instalment of the series, « Early Spring » is dedicated to the works of Silvia Maglioni & Graeme Thomson, Elise Florenty & Marcel Türkowsky, and Melissa Dubbin & Aaron S. Davidson.
This edition brings together three speculative works which secretly pass through the needle's eye and explore the interstice between science fiction and non-fiction for weaving contemplative fabulations. Taking an experimental approach, the artists employ anti-representational sound strategies that explore the vibrations that occur within and outside of each film.
Opening on 9 April, Melissa Dubbin & Aaron S. Davidson will present the work "Nobody Shoots a Broken Horn". In the deserts of New Mexico, speculation and experimentation are shaped by a misleading scale and apparent emptiness. In this terrain nuclear weapons are tested, rockets propelled and exotic species are introduced. This is a ballistic tale of hunting and working on White Sands Missile Range.
« Early Spring » is curated by Maxime Guitton.
